Dialogue

I believe we can all change this world, I believe that we can all contribute to the bigger picture. Based on individual morals, individual beliefs, individual passions and individual actions we can not only change our own lives but impact the world we live in. We all live on the same planet but all participate and truly live in our own individual worlds in which crossover and enter each other’s. I live in a world where every action, every word, every thought track can and will participate in the way I view the world and the world views me. I see the world as an opportunity, an opportunity to not only better my own but to better every single persons I come across. It’s an opportunity to understand, to support, and too help grow a movement towards change.

It’s augment to identify and clarify the factors that construct your belief system. I believe that we should invest in people, in ourselves and each other. We get told we all live in a community, we all live in society yet we’re made up of individuals, we all get encouraged to speak out about what we believe in yet are subject to isolation when trying to promote and to encourage change. Current societal movement encourages individuality, to make your voice heard, to put your views across to the wider community, yet a community is defined as “the condition of sharing or having certain attitudes and interests in common.” ( Oxford Dictionary)  so why don’t we inspire to crossover worlds, to combine and to strengthen not only a message but the concept that together a message will travel further, there will be more voices to be heard, more voices to be shared and more voices to enter dialogue.

The concept of Ubuntu that I’ve discussed previously identifies the importance of a community effort, that every individual success will grant success to community; the idea that success is to be shared and encouraged as a team; so I’m suggesting in the promotion of dialogue between us. Not a debate, not just a conversation but an environment which opinion isn’t a burden yet a contribution to an action, to a movement. Whatever world you live in, whatever your passion is, whatever contribution you want to make to your world, to our world should be highlighted and heard. Give yourself the opportunity to make your voice heard in an environment which factors in the majority not just the minority. Dialogue can happen in a pair, in a group, in an entire community. Use your voice as a brick towards building the house, no matter how large or how long you spend adding to it, your contribution is necessary in the creation of change.

The Jigsaw Puzzle

Learn to sit back and take a look at the bigger picture. The picture is made up of thousands of different pigments, different colours, different thoughts and different meanings. The ‘bigger picture’ is essentially creating a collage of individual and contrasting images that work inclusively to represent something bigger, your world. Essentially life is like a jigsaw puzzle, where each piece represents unique and meaningful factors that interlink and connect to one another in a constant network of emotions that link an individual’s values to their actions in parallel to their reactions. Understanding what is important in your life is imperative in guiding your actions, working as a connecting piece from your internal thoughts to your external responses maintaining a healthy equilibrium.   Your three dimensional being inclusive of your values, actions and reactions contribute to the jigsaw yet are not isolated in its making. If they say life is about the bigger picture than fa...

Faith

Faith is commonly referred to within the religious context, yet faith is defined as ‘complete trust or confidence in someone or something’. Coming from a generation that is experiencing the culture of ‘trust issues’ and increasing individualised insecurities due the increasing pressures of societal norms and standards it seems to be a common trend to lose faith. Similar to all my other posts, this isn’t subjected to the whole of society, yet building on my own experiences and others around me. Wanting to believe in something bigger than you, to me that’s what it’s about. Whether you immerse yourself into a culture, a lifestyle or a religion, understanding that the way you perceive the world isn’t necessarily defined by your past experience yet the mind set and perspective which you chose to view the present world. Think about faith like a pair of glasses, we don’t all need to wear them. Although for some of us our faith is required and practiced at all times and for some of us w...

Ubuntu

“ I am what I am because of who we are” We are all bound together by things that are invisible to the eye, by our emotions, by our gratitude and by our compassion towards others. Ubuntu is a faceless philosophy that binds us together to create something more than just the individual. Ubuntu asks us to open our hearts and allow others to inspire our hearts to live for more than just ourselves; to encourage the creation of a more collective society and to consider the success of the group above that of the individual. Suggesting that the only way for us to be human is to share our humanity with other people and to have it reflected back at us, understanding that our Ubuntu is what connects us with the world. The philosophy that doesn’t judge our success on money or materialism yet for our kindness towards and our willingness to help others. A perspective that believes the progression of the world lays in the collection of simple gestures of compassion towards others rather tha...
